This session will introduce the Global Coalition for Action on Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mining (ASGM)—a new multi-stakeholder initiative led by World Gold Council, World Bank and IGF, aimed at improving governance, reducing illicit activity, and enhancing the development impact of the ASGM sector.

The Coalition aims to support national efforts to formalize the sector, combat organized crime, and increase the share of responsibly-mined gold entering legal markets. Policymakers will gain insights into how collaborative, country-led approaches can unlock sustainable development opportunities while aligning with environmental, social, and governance priorities.
