Bio
Emily Anwuli Offodile has over 12 years of experience in the mining sector, working on data collection for the National Action Plan. She has contributed to data collection for the National Action Plan, which aims to eliminate the use of mercury in Nigeria. Additionally, she served as a team leader for sensitization and training of Artisanal Small-Scale Mining (ASM) practitioners in Niger, Plateau, and Osun States, focusing on promoting resilience against the impacts of COVID-19 in mining communities under a project funded by the World Bank’s EGPS.
Emily developed a community development framework for a Lead-Zinc and Gold mining project and has collaborated with a committee on creating a strategic framework and conducting baseline studies for women in mining and ASM communities throughout Nigeria. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria. Currently, she serves as the Special Assistant on Community Engagement to the Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Solid Mineral Development and is the National Secretary of Women in Mining in Nigeria. She is also the founder of the Ziva Community Initiative
