Mattea Cordier is an advisor on trade policy at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). Her work focuses on the intersection of EU trade policy and sustainable development, especially sustainability aspects in the EU’s free trade agreements. In the context of critical raw materials, she mainly works on the role of trade policy in local value addition. Since 2025, she is also involved in the management of trade facilitation projects with the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation. Mattea holds a master’s degree in international relations from the Dresden University of Technology. She speaks English, French and German and is based in Bonn, Germany.
