Vice Minister of Economy, Integration and Foreign Trade

Graduated with a law degree from San Carlos de Guatemala University, with postgraduate studies from the Istmo University (Guatemala City) in human rights, and corporate tax law.

She began her public career in the Ministry of Economy of Guatemala serving as Vice Minister from 1998 to 2000. After this period, she led the Guatemalan negotiation team in the Associations Agreement between Central America and the European Union.

As a law practitioner, she has written law proposals that have been approved by the Guatemalan Congress such as the Decree-laws on: Promotion and Development of Export Activity and Drawback, Free Trade Zones, National Quality System and Copyright, Industrial Property Protection.

In her current position as Vice Minister of Integration and Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economy of Guatemala, her main functions include negotiation and administration of International Trade Agreements, the Central America Economic Integration Process, and the promotion of the Customs Union process between Guatemala and Honduras, among others.
