Brenda currently works at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as the Programme Manager on Plastic Pollution. Brenda joined UNEP in 2006 and has played key roles in the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM) as well as in the development of the Global Mercury Partnership and Minamata Convention. Prior to joining UNEP, Brenda worked at Environment and Climate Change Canada as a policy analyst and advisor. Much of her career has focused on policy advice, building strategic partnerships as well as overseeing complex stakeholder consultation processes in the context of pollution. Brenda is a Canadian national, her bachelor’s degree is in Environmental Engineering (1997, University of Guelph) and master’s degree is in Environment and Management (2013, Royal Roads University).
