I am a professor of international and public economics at Universidad del Pacífico in Peru. I have returned to academia after a political career in my home country. I was elected Vice-president and member of the parliament of Peru in 2016 and I have been appointed to important leading positions like Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Minister of Production and Minister of Trade and Tourism, in different administrations between 2006 and 2017.
