Nikhil Hirdaramani is a Director of the Hirdaramani Group, a family-owned diversified conglomerate whose core business is the manufacture of apparel through its factories in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Ethiopia. The Group has additional interests in the Leisure, Retail, Renewables, Capital, Services, & Philanthropy.

With over 20 years’ experience in the apparel industry, Nikhil, in recent years, has taken responsibility for sustainability in the group which became a core focus area for the Hirdaramani Group since the launch of Mihila, Asia’s first Carbon Neutral Factory in 2009, covering both key environmental and social initiatives with a strong link to the United Nations SDG’s.
The Hirdaramani group was proud to announce in 2019 that its Sri Lanka Operations had been verified as Net zero from Greenhouse Gas emissions and is presently embarking on an extensive 5-year sustainability strategy.

Nikhil also continues to be an avid advocate of sustainability within the wider industry being engaged in a number of multi stake holder initiatives. He has been a member of the board of SEDEX and former vice chair of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) and presently sits on the Council of the Social and Labor Convergence Project (SLCP)

Nikhil is an active member leader of Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), and presently leads the Global Sub-committee for External Relations overseeing partnerships with organizations such as the United Nations, IFC and World Economic Forum as well as the implementation of the EO sustainability strategy.

Nikhil has a BA in International Relations from Tufts University, USA and an MBA from Imperial College, UK.
