Maria Andrea has more than twenty years of work experience in human rights and development, including eighteen years at OHCHR HQs and field locations. Her various assignments included support to intergovernmental mechanisms, treaty bodies, Special Procedures as well as human rights in country assessments and development plans in Bolivia (2007-2013) and Colombia (2014-2017). She has also supported OHCHR field presences in the integration of human rights in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. She has a M.A. in Political Science and a Master’s on Human Rights Education and on Environmental Health.
