Obed is a natural resource and environment campaigner with over 15 years experience in the forest and cocoa sector of Ghana. His work centers on entrenching community rights and equitable benefit sharing for local communities and cocoa farmers. At the national and international level, Obed has spoken and advocated at EU Parliament, Chatham House and most recently at CoP26 in Glasgow for community-based and community-led initiatives to tackle deforestation and forest loss. He has worked on FLEGT-VPA for over 10years and is currently actively involved in engaging EU policy makers on the new due diligence regulation on forest-risk commodities. Obed is the co-convener for the Ghana Civil-society Cocoa Platform.
