Ms. Maciel has more than 15 years of experience in Internet-governance-related projects, notably in the fields of digital economy, e-commerce, and cybersecurity. She has been involved in several research and capacity building initiatives on digital trade issues. She is a PhD candidate at the University of Bordeaux Montaigne, focusing on the securitization of trade policy. Prior to joining Diplo, Marília Maciel was a researcher and coordinator of the Center for Technology and Society of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (CTS/FGV) in Rio de Janeiro.
