Dr Prerna Prabhakar is a Program Associate in the Industrial Sustainability and Competitiveness team at the Council on Energy Environment and Water (CEEW). Prior to CEEW, she worked with National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) where she focussed on external sector issues, investment potential for Indian States/UTs as well as land policy matters. Prerna has also worked on research projects with University of Delhi, Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) and Centre for WTO Studies at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT).
Prerna led the research work for India’s first index for Land Records called NCAER Land Records and Services Index (NLRSI) and engaged with State governments to discuss potential areas of improvements in this regard. She is also on the expert panel of Policy in Action program of Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC).
Prerna completed her PhD from Department of Business Economics, University of Delhi, focussing broadly on two key aspects of International economics- climate change policies and regional integration. She has a post-graduation degree in Economics from TERI School of Advanced Studies (TSAS). Prerna has published her research in Indian and international journals including Environmental Economics and Policy Studies. She regularly contributes opinion pieces to leading newspapers.
