Martin Andreas Kampffmeyer, Aurubis AG
Elodie Souffre, Nexans
Awaz Alfadil Alkhalifa Mohamed, Hitachi Energy
This session, organized by The Copper Mark, will bring together key actors from each stage of the value chain for the renewable energy sector, providing insights and case studies for how responsible production can be embedded across the full renewable energy value chain, from mine to end consumer.
The demand for copper and other critical metals is increasing rapidly, driven in part by the shift to renewable energy, in particular wind and solar power generation. At the same time, renewable energy developers, manufacturers and consumers want to ensure that the metals used to generate this clean energy are done in a responsible and sustainable way. Countries where critical metals are extracted are often understandably seeking to develop value addition through downstream production and manufacturing in their own jurisdictions, and for this to be done in a responsible way at every stage.
