Awaz Alfadil is the Global SCM Material Sustainability Lead for the Transformers Business Unit at Hitachi Energy . Awaz brings a wealth of experience in formulating and implementing cross-functional sustainability strategies and processes, driving regulatory compliance, and advancing sustainable materials management across complex industrial supply chains.

Previously, Awaz spearheaded sustainability strategy and ESG measurement, analytics and performance initiatives at Accenture GmbH, where Awaz developed GenAI tools for sustainability reporting and advised clients across manufacturing, aviation, and pharmaceuticals on regulatory compliance, double materiality, and impact valuation. She also played a pivotal role at the Value Balancing Alliance, leading the development of environmental methodologies for monetizing business impacts and dependencies on society and the environment, and contributing to the evolution of EU sustainability regulations.

Her expertise spans natural capital accounting, circular economy models, Impact and dependencies management, and the integration of responsible AI in sustainability processes. Awaz has contributed to international projects and publications, including the EU LIFE-funded Transparent project and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s Product Portfolio Steering.

Awaz is at the forefront of digital innovation for sustainability, having led the development and deployment of AI-powered solutions that transform how organizations manage environmental data and compliance. As Global SCM Material Sustainability Lead, she is actively working on identifiying how mineral wealth and industrial value chains can sopport diversified, resilient and sustainable economies.
