Ambassador John Deep Ford served as Guyana’s Ambassador to the UN in Geneva, the WTO, and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) from 2016 to 2020. In this capacity, he served as the Chair of the WTO’s Agriculture negotiations, and also chaired the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) group at the WTO. Ambassador Ford has over 30 years of experience working both at national and international levels as an economist in agricultural trade and food policy. Prior positions notably included serving as Regional Director for the Caribbean at the FAO.
